Upcoming Events

These are upcoming events that I just found out about recently. I’d like to share them with my readers because there is still time to participate! So if you’re interested, definitely check them out.

September 08, 2012, various locations Walk for the Children of Syria: $5.00 per participant will be donated to UNICEF to support its work in Syria. Currently, 5053 individuals have already registered to take part in this event, which means that currently, UNICEF will receive $25,265. September 22-24, 2012, New York City, NY Social Good Summit – It’s a 3-day conference that brings innovative minds together during UN week. It’s dedicated to finding new and creative ways of using technology to help solve today’s global issues. You can attend the conference in New York City, participate in an online “meetup”/discussion wherever you are, or watch the Summit on YouTube (if interacting with social media, use #SGSglobal). For fellow bloggers and the press, a Digital Media Lounge will be featured at the NYC conference where you will have access to speaking sessions during the conference. Wi-fi will be available, and it’ll be open most of the day, for all three days. Both bloggers and members of the press need accreditation to access it.

UNICEF has a number of other upcoming events, such as the Masquerade Ball on October 31, 2012 and the Snowflake Ball and Lighting on November 27, 2012, both in New York City.

Also, don’t forget about the Global Festival on September 29, 2012 at the Central Park Great Lawn, featuring music by Neil Young with Crazy Horse, Foo Fighters, and The Black Keys.

Why not enjoy, learn, and help create a better world all at the same time?

I’ll keep posting about charitable events that I’ll hear about during my travels.
